Leaving for Giro
So i been at home the last week and its quite nice to relax. Well thats if you can call getting up at 6 every morning relaxing. The wonders of having a daughter who thinks up time has to be with the birds.
So the training has been rather casual i figure if im not ready now im never gonna be, but i also done quite a bit of sweating on the trainer helps a lot with the leg speed. Tomorrow might not be able to ride unless i get out really early cause got a long bit of travelling to get down to Venice.
Had my ECG done today as well and Doc said im good to go no hassles at all with the hard working ticker.
Im busy trying to put a link that all my twitter feeds get fed through to the website as well cause like in most tours i doubt ill have internet access every night to give you all a run down.
If by chance i dont get it up you can follow the twitter feeds on http: //www. twitter. com/robbiehunter
Ciao for now.

Schumacher the tool
So the second piece to the six man puzzle is Stefan Schumacher.. surprised? im not.. ..
The only thing that gets me is that of 6 names and apparently all different sporting codes only the cycling names have come out. This leaves us with two possibilities..
1. The cycling authorities are leaking the names to the press and in so doing are not abiding by their own rules of conduct. And by this tarnishing their own sport and the athlete before they have been tried correctly (im not sticking up for idiots who should not be in the sport just it has happened before names have come to the press and after been cleared. But then its too late and riders been tainted).
2. The other sporting codes are not doing their jobs correctly and hiding the positive test of athletes and in so doing that just trying to cover their own a*ses.
Cycling is for sure not the only sport with a problem, it has been many years not that other names have been floating around with doping problems like the Fuentes affair. Some 100 names were supposed to come out of that hole debacle but not a single other sporting code was ever released. And i know that on Spanish radio Fuentes said himself that there were other athletes not only cyclists..
So what are we to do when we the cyclists are getting smashed in the press and our sponsors are vanishing day by day. And with all this happening it harder and harder to find a job and our salaries just get worse.
Its a catch 22 this whole doping thing.
Get the cheaters out but in doing so everybody gets burned.. .(seems every other sport is ok for now. But the day will come when its your chance to be in the lime light and try explain to everybody you meet that not everybody uses dope)! !! !! !! !! !

Rain and training
So its been raining for 2 days solid back in Switzerland. I cant even go down to my place in Como cause it raining there as well..
All i go to do is sweat it out on the indoor trainer till it clears up a bit. Some of you might say seems a bit crazy im a pro and need to train no matter what the weather. My answer to you is this.
I race so many days in a year in the rain so i hate training in it and secondly its not the brightest thing to go out now in 5 degrees and get wet, cold and probably sick just before the Giro.
So hence my decision to train indoors. I did two sessions today, one in the morning and another this evening.
I also saw a article on cycling news another positive test from the Olympic games last year. Im not mentioning names here on my site but go check it out and if its all true, how stupid can people be. I mean people were caught for the drug during the Giro last year and the Tour and yet they go ahead and use it for the Olympics.. HELLO brain donor.. just get the stuff away from the sport.. Maybe you should go back to pre school where they can teach you that 1+ 1 = 2 and not 0 Idiot.. .. .. . And that comment goes for everybody out there who thinks they to clever for the sport.
Later all

Back in Swiss
So im finally back in Swiss with the wife and baby girl, gotta say its good to be home. After my crash in Turkey i could have flown home the very next day but decided to stay and train in the warm weather. Seems that it was the right decision now that i have won a race a week later. The problem is its not so easy when you know you got the family back home being away so much. Anyways its sometimes too easy to go back home. This time i spoke to my wife and i guess im lucky she is so understanding and knows what it means to be a pro bike racer.
To give you all an idea i left for Belgium to the Classics on the 30th of March got back on the 6th of April, left for Turkey on the 10th, then went straight to Trentino and i got back today the 25th. Im here till the 6th of May (7th is Claudia`s bday - miss it again) then its Giro time and will be gone the whole month. So not too much time as you can see.
Any ways so the last week has been good i guess as far as preparation is concerned for the Giro. Its been a good block of hard mountains and also walking away with a victory that does magic for the confidence. Especially now that we so close to the Giro, to go into a 3 week stage race knowing you have done everything right is great.
The next week and a bit ill be at home training but not too much just wanna keep myself where i am. Also im sure if i feel the way i do now ill get a bit better by the end of the first week as well.
Chat soon.. .
