News
So i been back home since monday Afternoon and ive had 2 really good days of training. Yesterday was an absolute waste as it was raining all day and totally bucketing down so decided to take a day off. Today ill head out and do a few hours cause i got 2 races coming up next week in Italy.
Im not exactly racing to much at the moment cause the program we do as a team in these months does not suite me to much. We mostly doing one day races in Italy an maybe one out of ten are good for me.
Any ways i guess i should not complain but i do prefer to race a bit more than just sit at home and train. I figure the more you race the more chances you got of getting results and it keeps you in better shape. Training is great but it fatigues you mentally.
The season is actually almost done for me cause im only doing Tour of Britian and Paris Tour after this. So its basically one race every month..
In one way im luck not racing to much cause it lets me spen time at home with the Wife and baby. Shame she is changing day by day. She is now only six weeks but already chaged so much. She is also becoming more responsive to everything around her. She has also smiles now and again which is really cool to see.. Ill post some pics that i been taking..

Come and gone
Glad thats over thats for sure.. . the conditions were really hard, it was so hot and humid it was like being in a sauna all day or should i say the time i was in the race. It was a really crazy race and at a point a group of 30 riders went up the road with almost every team represented.. . We were trying to get a result with John lee so i ended up on the front trying to pull back the group with Dave Zabriskie from the states. We rode on the front flat out just the 2 of us ok there was a argentinian guy as well but he was doing half turns so by the time hit the climb we were toast. We managed to keep the group at 1 minute while we were riding then whn we blew it went up to 4 minutes.
Its crazy once you put in a hug effort you just never recovered at all.. .
Any ways it as the best i could do for John lee and try make sure he stayed in the race other wise i woul not have been much help on the hard circuit..
John lee rode a great race and was a bit unlucky not to have finished in the second group with evans and the rest.. . He was so strong today and followed the main guys all day. On the final lap he started o cramp when the last move went and as he got in the group he slip out again. None the less it shows that at 22 years old tomorrow.. he is a huge talent for the future.. . I know there are other guys like Andy Schleck but he is just a freak of nature.. ..
as damb strong one but a freak ha ha
Any ways im here a day now and then i fly back on Monday for my next races on the 19th and 21st.

Olympic games tomorrow
So ive been here a few days now and its already time to race. Time has flown by in no time at all. We have done a few training rides here and yea its hard to ride as its really hot and humid but to be honest im not sure what everybody is moaning about. Everyone of us that race pro have some where along the line ridden in much more demanding circumstances before.
Heck i can think of a few time when ive races un sub zero conditions where we could not feel hands fingers or feet and not breath from the cold air.. . So i tell you what id take the warm humid condiotions first any time. No matter what people say about the conditions evrerybody has the same challenges so its fair game.
The course is really demanding and truelly not mde for me. Ill be doing my best to help John lee who i think can really have a good ride. Ill do all i can till i get dropped(if i do of course) to make sure he has got what he needs and keep him out of the wind and all the usual stuff a team mate should do.
The village has been great really relaxing cause there is nothig to do at all but train eat and sleep. I broke down for the first time this year and has some Macdonalds but heck its free in the village and i could not say no.. I had a chinken burger and mcnuggets for lunch today ha ha..
Anyways tomorow is the big day and like most of the papers i think three countries are going to dominate. Germany, Italy and Spain.. ..
Enjoy tomorrow cause im not sure if i will be ha ha..
Ciao till after the race..

Leaving for China Today
So this afternoon i leave for China and im not looking forward to the long flight. The more i fly the less i like it. Well i guess whats to like back in animal class.. .. Yea thats right, i dont fly business class like most people think. Any ways as much as i enjoy the space and extra comfort but the price is just not justifiable.(not that im paying for this flight but if i was i doubt id pay it)
Its now a just over a week since the tour and im actually feeling really rested. Its gonna be something special in Beijing and my goals are to try help John lee get a result. Its difficult to say what that will be but the course seems to suite him more than me. Ill do my best none the less..
Ok i should have internet in the village so ill keep you up dated..
Ciao for now..

Chuela Wins and throws down the hammer for Barloworld
So after another hard race and only 30 riders finishing out of 180 we managed to win a race with Giampi.. The day before we had a good ride and finished 3rd with Christian and only 18riders got to the finish.
Its really crazy this time of the year as everybody is tired from the tour and the races dont help any case races are so hard it just makes the situation worse and not more than 30 get to the finish.. not to good for the spectators.. Any ways yesterday was for sure not a day for me. It was 16km loop with 8kms of climbing.. In the end we did over 30meters of climbing.. thats a lot for people who dont know. Basically a 30km climb at an average of 10%.
So I gotta say im really happy Giampi won the races cause he is a really hard worker for the team and very seldom looks for personal success. Could not have happend to a better guy.
Im also glad cause now Barloworld can see the kind of character this team has got. The riders dont get up and run in the sight of trouble they fight even harder.. .. These are the kinds people that Barloworld as a company should be proud to be represented by.
Just a bit of Food For Thought..
