Robbie, thank you for signing our cycling mag at the stage start at Lannemezan at the TdF. We saw you and your fellow musketeers again on the Champs Elysees and - hats off to the four of you on finishing the Tour - a huge achievement that you should all be proud of. Good luck for the rest of the season and we hope to see you back at the Tour next year.

Best of success in your upcoming races next week, Robbie.
It's nice to have commentary from the pack from a regular Joe.
One day when you're a geezer like me (just turned 60 last week) and the blokes at the bar are talking about this, that and the other thing you will be able to lean your head against the wall, take a pull off your lager and say "You guys don't know anything. I was THERE."

Want to wish you and the rest of SA team good luck for Beijing. Signing off Nuisance

Hi Rob,
Well done on finishing the TdF and to the rest of the guys who finished. You guys have made us proud and it was great to hear and see you so many times during the TdF coverage. There was so much positive support from the commentators and back here at home. It is also great to see that you guys are in the top ten for 3 jerseys. Bad luck Rob on the Champs Elysees. Next time the podium is yours. :)
Holding thumbs for some good results this season and we will be watching and supporting you through the Olympics.
Enjoy you break with Claudia and Mandy. I am sure that it will be a welcome change.
Keep going strong.

It was a pleasure seeing a S.A. name in 10th place on the last stage of the TdFrance arriving in Paris. Quite an achievement, & S.Africans can be proud of someone who obviously put in all the hard work to keep going in the face of all the different adversities which any athlete on his way to the top must face. Keep working hard mentally & physically to progress in your career. Your greatest achievement will be the kind of example you will manage set for S.Africans whom you will be able to encourage to keep on working in the face of adversity, whether in the domain of sport, of work, or of sorting out all the different problems of their lives. Winning or just finishing a difficult race will be only a contributing part of that achievement.

Bravo, Robbie. It's good to see honest competition from riders in the sport. Along with that must come a completely transparent and above board method of evaluation of samples so that there can be no question that test results are accurate and verifiable. To sacrifice a rider's professional career demands nothing less, I think.

Ok we all hate the doping but to a lesser extent i was irritated by Cavendish leaving the Tour de France just so he could go train for Beijing. This is unfair on the sprinters like you, Hushovd, Zabel, and Freire who no doubt train to get over the big mountains and lose a bit of kick by doing this. If you start a race you should try your best to finish it in my opinion. Anyway im hoping for a win for you on the champs elysses and one for John-Lee up Alpe D'Huez (You never know). hi there Robbie
Lekker till thus far. Man I was worried when I heard about the crash. I'm in Germany so the TV and INternet streaming is a little delayed. For the Record, Barlow's loss is an opportunity for Proudly SA company to get involved. Maybe a giant Minning Company, Kumba Iron Ore maybe. They sponsor the whole Seeding Classic in Upington. Just an idea. If I had a company or a say, man this would be great!!!
About your sprints, you doing well, consistancy is the best. But I'm not going to write you off on the time trial aswell, way to go!! I'm impressed.
"and they coming to the line, the sprint is on, there Robbie goes, look at the speed. What a victory, two bike lengths, he left them standing!!!!!".............

Hey Robbie,
I agree that cheats don’t belong in the world of true competition. It’s funny how they have the biggest mouths as well.
Just to get my two cents off my chest. I think Barlowworld has been a great sponsor for the team and has helped bring cycling to the fore in South Africa. However, I am also a bit disappointed in their decision to pull out instead of standing by a team of 98% pure athletics. I have never seen any business that has a bad apple employee close shop because it’s against their principles; normal they simple fire the person and move on!
I am still watching and enjoy every moment of the tour, viva le tour! And keep the spirit and legs spinning

Hi Robbie,
I totally agree with your comments in your blog about riders who get caught. There should be no second chance and they deserve to be severely punished for their actions; everybody knows the rules form the start. I am very sorry to hear barlow world are pulling out of their sponsorship in pro cylcing. I wish you and your teammates all the best in finding a new pro cycling team. Good luck wiht the rest of the tour,
Dan

Hey Robbie,
I'm so sorry about what's happened regarding the doping incident for Barloworld. Its extremely unfortunate and I hope it doesn't effect your mindset too much! Just continue to prove to the world that a fantastic cyclist doesn't need drugs to be successful. You're an awesome sprinter and I wish you all the best. I hope to see you claiming another stage win and making South Africa proud!

Hi Robbie,
Sorry to hear the news about Barloworld. It's always the innocent guys who suffer for the guilty. Good on yer for speaking out against the cheats and keep your head up. Be proud to be what you are, a clean & honest rider. Best wishes, nick

Hi Robbie and family
Very well said. Here in Canada we're really tired of all the doping crap. As my wife and watched when Landis went ballistic on his miracle come back stage we thought, "ya, right'. I figure your too good a person to publicly agree with me but I think there where some stages Armstrong won that looked suspicious. I'm afraid I don't share the worlds view point on Lance. I'm glad you have the courage to say it as it is. I spent many years as a competitive swimmer and even back in the 70's there were teens I swam against that where totally dominating. As I think back about how frustrating it was trying my best but always coming up short, I know how you must feel, working your hardest only to race against cheats. Keep trying. In the end you can sleep at night and be proud of your accomplishments.
Best of luck, Les

I agree with you 100% Rob, I believe that the chance of Moises destroying every team members chances of a job and career were huge, because of his greed for success. Had I been team leader I think I would have broken Moisès DUEÑAS NEVADO feet so he would not peddle again for a long time. As for Ricco he reminds me of Mugabie, another idiot.
Stay strong we are all behind you every day of the tour.

Hi Robbie
You have brought some hope back into my thinking? My mates and i are keen riders & follow you pro's with a passion. After the recent doping "catches"in the Tour, i was ready to give up on the whole lot and watch another sport! Thank goodness for your recent entry in your on-line diary where you slate the cheats even more than we do, Well done, i hope the rest of the guys in the peleton feel the same way....and although i do feel sad for the guys crazy enough to think they can get away with doping i feel sadder for them for risking everything to represent false standards. Keep up the good stuff ...you make us proud.

Robbie, keep up the good work, keep pushing for the GREEN, keep giving us those gut wrenching, screaming blue murder moments, when you cross the line a wheel ahead of the rest. Ever since that moment last year when you rode up the Col de la Colombiere, straight past that group of 4 crazy jumping up and down saffas waving the flag, and that other moment 3 days later when you cruised up the Col du Telegraphe to the same scene, ever since then my fascination with the tour has quadrupled, I am a fan for life. Cmon Barloworld, cmon Robbie Hunter.
